Time-Warner corporate is dropping usenet news as of June 23, 2008.

Getting the aol users of Usenet is nothing but good.

September 1993 is when AOL == Arse-holes On Line

Generally not a lot has changed. We may loose a few good people but get
rid of thousands of idiots.

AOL discontinued its usenet access more than three years ago. See:

The only folks left on usenet are the old fogeys. Like any group of old
fogeys, there are those 'few good people' and the 'senile old farts'..
C'est la vie.

Granted, we still have the spambots running amok trying to sell crap to
the endless-summer hordes, but those hordes have long since moved on to
blingier crap.
