What is THAT all about? "Shill" ? "Ebay abuse?"
In the first place, the message was listed in all four newsgroups, each one of which purports to be for offering for sale photo equipment, except for "misc.forsale.non-computer" which this offer also fits, it seems to me. Maybe someone's got a problem with eBay? keith whaley Tony Spadaro wrote: Ebay abuse Ebay contact, including SPAM complaints: http://pages.ebay.com/help/basics/select-RS.html UseNet SPAM policy: http://pages.ebay.com/help/usenet_policy.html Be sure to include all headers. |

Hah! Now I understand. I just read the charter for "rec.photo.*" newsgroups.
First of all, the poster cross-posted. A NO-NO! Second of all, the poster didn't prefix the Subject line with "[Auction}" as the Charter demands. Third of all, the poster attempted to post a for-sale item in newsgroups OTHER than "rec.photo.marketplace.*" groups, which is ALSO a NO-NO. I gather none of these groups are moderated (?), and there was no-one available to review and throw away anti-Charter posts before all the readers read these messages and got all upset? If that's the case, it's obviously up to the list monitors who care, to inform all transgressors of their transgression, and hope it works. It does help when someone posts the Charter Regulations message regularly. That's how I answered my own questions [below]! Someone had posted a copy of the regs and now I know all about how to act on this list. keith whaley * * * Keith Whaley wrote: What is THAT all about? "Shill" ? "Ebay abuse?"
