Is anyone using PhotoMesa? Support for it?
I'm looking for a good way of indexing, viewing, adding titles, captions,
descriptions and comments, and categorising (using a hierarchical tagging system) my library of many thousands of images. I discovered PhotoMesa, originally developed by Uni of Maryland HCIL and now supplied by Windsor Interfaces (http://www.windsorinterfaces.com). It looked an interesting and potentially powerful package so I downloaded and installed it. It still looks interesting and potentially powerful but the documentation (i.e. the help file - there doesn't seem to be anything else) is not very good and is incomplete, there are some things that the program is supposed to be able to do that I can't make it do, and some things cause obscure error messages. I've emailed Windsor Interfaces about these but no reply. Normally the best way of getting support on these free or cheap shareware packages is some sort of self help forum or mailing list for the user community. I can't find anything like this. Is anyone using PhotoMesa? Is there any sort of user community? Where? If not, would anyone be interested in setting one up, or in me setting one up? Thanks - Rowan |
