Default Old Sinar P or Horseman LX

Hi

Both are used, priced about $1000. Which one to get? The horseman lx is
newer, more movements, including adjustable film/lens plane, everything
except swing and tilt are geared.
In Sinar P everything including swing and tilt are geared, but it's
older design. Sinar P is ~1.5 lbs lighter.

Is $1000 a good price for them?

thanks for the helps,
rob

Default Old Sinar P or Horseman LX

I have a Horseman LS and love it for studio work (it is not a
travelling companion like a folder!). Geared movements is not the
cat's meow...I have never wanted geared swing and tilts! So gearing a
not a selling point to me.

Does the Sinar P have a 'DOF computer'? There is one on the Horseman.
Horseman and Sinar things are typically interchangeable, like lens
boards, bellows, and other things.

A new LX can be had on B&H at $3400, while a new P2 is $7400, so based
upon relative 'discount' your P is a 'better deal', but then it is
older and more depreciated. No matter what you choose, both are good
deals.
