New HP A3+ Pigment Ink 8 Colour Photo Printer
deryck lant writes ...
I wonder why the Pro large format printer market is dominated by HP? I know of several labs offering large format inkjet prints and almost every one of them is using Epson 9600 or 9800's. All of these labs also have Chromira or LightJet laser printers and typically sell the Epson prints for the same or slightly higher prices. I don't know of any such labs with HPs. I know maybe 50 professional photographers who print wide format at home and every single one of them uses Epsons, typically the 4000/7600/9600 series and more recently the 4800/7800/9800. I've never met anyone who uses an HP large format printer for this. Maybe I don't get out enough but I'm pretty certain Epson dominates this market for fine art printing. HP's are more for CAD, I think. Bill |
