Does anyone make ...
Dear ,

Might make not only for some great 5" neg panoramas, but also provide a way to use some films not ordinarily available to 4x5 (albeit in a reduced form factor). I'm thinking of making one from an old holder. My Caltar HR 210/5.6 turns out to be quite sharp. Shot on certain 35mm films it might be quite nice. Linhof _made_ such an item. For the German armed Forces (Deutsche Bundeswehr). On special request. The whole large format stuff of the Bundeswehr is phased out now. Appears - Yeah - sometimes on ebay. During its introduction, it was prohibetively expensive... Just a thought. Enjoy. Yours sincerely Christoph-Erdmann Pfeiler |

When I had a Deardorff 4x5 Special, its back came with two dividers you could put in to make 2 or 4 exposures on a piece of 4x5 film. I never used it, but if you have something like that you could make 2"x5" exposures on one sheet of film. Such things might be available for other cameras. I never used that feature. -- .~. Dear Jean-David, I've forgot to mention: - the company is Linhof of Munich, Germany, see http://www.linhof.de/ - the user was most probably not the regular army, but one of the "Wehrtechnische Dienstelle" (Armory office). The use the same name tag however. - the reason to use 35mm film was the availability of Kodachrome 25 as type 135 film only. They wanted to keep documentary colour photos with a degeneration proof film for decades. I think now the reason to do such extraordinary equipment is clear. Most photos were taken black and white, of course with sheet film. Yours sincerely Christoph-Erdmann Pfeiler |
