How do I transfer RAW images from my 300D Rebel to my computer using C1 LE
How do I transfer RAW images from my 300D Rebel to my computer using
the trial version of Capture One LE? The instructions are not very detailed. I need exacting step-by-step help, like what and where to click in the C1 LE program. Before I pay the $100 for the program, I want to be sure I can use it. Dan |

Dan Dan, You would be much better off transferring the images from the camera's memory card onto your computer via a separate USB (or USB2 is faster) card reader and *then* using C1 to process them. Card readers are very cheap nowadays. |

C1 doesn't have that capability, and it certainly doesn't need it. My suggestion would be to use a card reader. Mark |

(Or at least, I'm fairly sure that C1 doesn't support tethered operation on the 300D.) The instructions are not very detailed. Copy the camera files to your PC by whatever method you normally use. (I plug the CF card into my PC & just copy the the files with Windows Explorer, which is much faster than copying from the camera via the USB port.) You select the folder with your files from C1. Yeah, C1's documentation isn't great. There are several ways to connect the CF card, or the camera containing the CF card to the USB or PCMCIA slots on your PC. Once you do that you should see a new drive letter (F: in my case) show up in file explorer on you PC (Right mouse click on START, select EXPLORE then scroll down till you see a letter that isn't A:,C:, or your CDROM drive (probably D) Once you see your drive letter click on it and you should see a folder called DCIM; double click on it and you see folders that have your pics. You can then drag and drop any/all files from F: (in my case) to any folder on you PC. Then point the C1 browser to that folder. You can yse the USB cable that came with the 300D. It's slow, and sucks camera battery power. Charge the battery before you start and keep an eye on the level while you are copying. A better way is to buy a CF card to USB dongle and leave the dongle attached to your PC. Take the CF card out of the camera and put in the dongle and repeat the steps, above. -- Al Dykes ----------- adykes at p a n i x . c o m |
