roughly the same number who get similar android phones.

why do you care so much about what others buy?

Even though most data plans
(unless you are a HUGE consumer/spender) won't let you dump your old phone
whenever you please so you have to actually PAY for a new one.

nonsense.

Point being?

the point is that people buy new phones regardless of who makes it and
for all sorts of reasons.

why do you care so much about what others buy?

I just like commenting on the mindsets of phone addicts.

no you don't.

you only comment when it involves apple, solely to bash.

if you were commenting on phone addicts, you would have not singled out
iphones and asked 'how many people will buy the new galaxy note 7',
which by the way, costs *more* than a similar iphone.

Even though most data plans

nonsense.

Fried of mine wanted a new phone for free because he lost his.

everyone wants stuff for free.

They told him
it would cost him $300.00. His business costs (at the time) where running
$500/month. He complained and they gave him the phone for nothing.
Average user wouldn't get it.

what they gave him is either a piece of **** phone that isn't worth
much of anything or they folded the true cost into his monthly fees.

it's not a free phone.

The Samsung Edge and Note series are premium when comparing with the
iPhones and are priced accordingly... And you get to have a wired
headset too!

Ireland disagrees profoundly with the European Commission's ruling
against its tax dealings with Apple Inc (AAPL.O), Finance Minister
Michael Noonan said on Tuesday ahead of seeking cabinet approval to
appeal.
Ireland's finance ministry said its position remained that the full
amount of tax was paid and no state aid was provided. Ireland did not
give favorable tax treatment to Apple and does not do deals with
taxpayers, it added.

Ireland is in short accused of "social dumping" by giving international
companies established in Ireland favors over local enterprises (that
can't chose where to establish themselves get to pay the taxes needed to
uphold the services of the Irish state) and thus secure more job
opportunities for the Irish.

Just giving you the background. Ireland is, if the above is true paying
Apple for jobs by giving international preferred treatment visa-vi
national companies. Apple has a long history in Cork but surely they
could get the job done equally well in Scotland...

From the linked article:

"The European Commission is now questioning Irish tax authority rulings
which allowed AOE and ASI to declare combined annual taxable profits of
just 40 to 80 million euros in recent years.

Those arrangements save Apple - the world's most valuable corporation -
billions of dollars in tax each year, analysts said.

Under EU rules, if the Commission's suspicion that the tax treatment
amounted to illegal state aid is proven, the company could be forced to
pay that money back to the Irish government.

Apple paid an average tax rate of just 2.5 percent on around $109
billion of non-U.S. profits in the past five years - a fraction of
Ireland's 12.5 percent tax rate"
