Default first TLR, very cheap

I've just won a Meopta Flexaret IV, oiled and checked.
I know it isn't the best choice, but..... 10,50$ !!!!!

For that money I can't give it a try, and take my first MF photo.

After tests I'll decide what to do, maybe a Rollei, or even a
Hasselblad.

Thanks.

Here in Italy it's very hard to find these old tlrs. Every country
has his own beliefs. (For example in USA, Bronica cameras are used by
pro, but here in Italy they're considered just a little bit than a toy
camera!)

So I looked at Adorama.com and bhphotovideo.com. Try to make a look
at the prices they're selling a Yashica 124 for example.
For the same money it's possible to buy a Rolleicord Vb on ebay, or
even a true Rolleiflex.

Bye.

If Bronicas are *priced* like toys, it would be a foolish photographer in
Italy who bought a Hassy.

film chamber. I'm referring to the Diacord and the Ricohmatic
225. I've used the Diacord L quite a bit and fount the results
from it to be sharp with excellent contrast.
(Note: I'm generally shooting around f8 to f11 give or take a
stop.). I've seen decent ones go for under $50.

Wow, I wish I was that lucky! I had a Diacord L from 2001 till some
weeks ago (had to give it back to the real owner who moved back to
Canada). It had the best lens I've ever used on a medium format camera,
absolutely great. And the light meter was working well, too, and it was
very precise. If I could get Diacords for 50USD, I'd prolly take more
than one, just in case.

I have a Mamiya C330, too, with the standard 2.8/80mm. It's good, but
to be honest, not as good as the lens on the Ricoh. Sure, it has an
interchangable lens option and a bellows and is a nice camera in
general. But a long bellows on a TLR? It's not really my choice for
close-ups, I'd rather take a SLR for that. And interchangable lenses is
only nice if you can and are willing to afford more lenses. If you're
not planning to use anything else but the 80mm, I'd prefer a fixed
lens. And, it got mentioned before, the Mamiyas are rather big and
heavy.

I have a Flexaret - no idea what model, it's weird, got features of the
III and VII. Didn't find any references to my Flexaret anywhere. The
Belar 3.5/80mm lens is okay, but very sensitive when it comes to stray
light. A lens shade is definitely mandatory. However, the Mamiya and
Ricoh lenses are better.
