Default Hassy CW Winder

Hi,
I purchased a used CW winder, which unfortunately came without user's
manual. Does anyone have the manual, preferably in electronic form (pdf or
facsimile)? A paper copy is welcome too (e-mail me for my snail-mail
address).
Also, what type of batteries are best: alkaline, NiCd or NiMH?
TIA

Steven

OK, so nobody has the manual. But at least *somebody* must own a CW Winder,
right? Could this person please tell me what the "L" position on the
function switch is for? I guess it's "off" ("L" for "lock"?) since it
doesn't seem to do anything in this position, but I'm not sure.
Thanks

Steven,

I have the winder and indeed that's what the L is for--

S--single
C--continuous
M--not sure
RC--remote control (did you get the IR remote with yours?)

I've only used it in S and RC modes, and you can take a lot of shots
quickly that way.

I probably have the manual somewhere (original paper version) and can
take a look for it if you're stuck. Main trick is getting it on and
off the camera (remove the lens first, along with the wind knob).

Is this a difficult process? Are any inconvenients in using the winder?

Thanks David.
I thought the M could be multiple exposure. In any case the film isn't being
transported when you press the release button. But then I can't make a
second exposure unless I move the switch, which causes the film to be
transported.
Same thing when you use the "multi" mode on the RC (yes, I have one!)
Do you know which additional action is required to make the second exposure?

'nother question: do you know what the 3.5mm telephone jack at the bottom is
for? Wired release button? External power supply?

Any experience with different kinds of batteries?

Maybe the manual could be of help here :-)

Thanks again

Steven

Like David said: remove the lens first. The winder is attached using a kind
of bayonet mechanism (click and rotate). The It's a bit tricky 'coz the two
parts are a bit bulky and you have to get some feeling about the correct
angle at which they connect. (I didn't see the indicator arrow like the one
on the winding knob).
I bought the winder only recently, so I'll have to see when either the
winder or the knob is more appropriate, but I think I'll try and leave the
winder attached.

The camera itself is not set up to make multiple exposures. So in M-mode,
the motor simply does not wind after the exposure. You must then insert the
dark slide, and remove the magazine from the body. Having done that, you
must set the switch to S or C, and the motor will start, resetting the
camera, but not transporting the film (which, of course is in the magazine
which is now not on the camera... ;-)). Replace the magazine after that, and
make the second exposure on the same frame.

The procedure is the same, with or without remore control.

Long cable remote release cord, yes.

External power supply?

No.
