OT (Just) Apple MacBook Pro Failures
At the risk of starting up you_know_who, those of us who use Apple
MacBook Pros should be aware of: http://www.zdnet.com/petition-about-...es-7000032751/ or http://tinyurl.com/l33kfvd -- Regards, Eric Stevens |

My MBP is pre-2011 and I have not experienced any of these symptoms. The most likely candidate for ownership of one of these MBPs is Alan Browne. Frankly it has a "FUDDISH" feel to it coming out of that den of FUD, ZDNet. I haven't seen anything on this subject in comp.sys.mac.system, but I will post your link there and see what gets stirred up in that hornet's nest. -- Regards, Savageduck |

It's not the failure that has prompted the article. It's not the fact that people have not received help outside the warranty period. It's the fact that another class of Apple users have experienced a similar failure and have received help outside the warranty period while this class of presumed equaly meretricious Apple users are not receiving help outside the warranty period for an apparently similar failure. I would expect Lenovo or Dell or Sony would attract attention if the behaved in the same way. -- Regards, Eric Stevens |

Isn't that what lies behind all this? Apple have not done it in this case. -- Regards, Eric Stevens |

I don't know how any manufacturer who wanted to keep a reputation for quality could expect to get away with ignoring widespread faults like this. -- Regards, Eric Stevens |

The problem is that not everyone is getting this problem and some are solving it in various ways which is odd. One person suggests :- "Simply run Onyx and have your ColorSync cache cleared." and that sorted at least two people out. Others have come up with other solutuions, of course this shouldn't really happen. Other manufacuers have problems too, but tend not be talked about as much. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-...chpad-problems -win8-1/td-p/1425779/page/3 Looks like Windows problem to me... ;-p -- teleportation kills http://tinyurl.com/androidphotography |
