Default Medium Format Movie Question

The movie is "Road to Perdition" (2002). Set in 1931, there is a
scene where Jude Law meets up with

Tom Hanks in a diner. Law is loading a roll of 120 film in a device that
he first has to wind up. Then, he

pushes a button and it makes a ZZZIIPP! sound. Anyone know what that
device was?

He wasn't pressing a button - he was winding the film to the first frame,
but it was a typical Hollywood screw-up. They gave it a 'zipping' sound for
effect. A moment after he put the camera down was another big goof - as Law
was pouring sugar in his coffee you could see the bottom of the sugar
dispenser - with a bar code label. oops!

I haven't seen it, but I checked IMDB
(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0257044/goofs) and wow!, what a list of
anachronisms. And then the bar code label isn't even mentioned yet. ;-)

First:
Quoting from a note at the bottom of that web site:

You may report errors and omissions on this page to the IMDb database
managers. They will be examined and if approved will be included in a
future update. Clicking the button on the left will take you through a new
improved step-by-step process.

Second:
"Hollywood" does a reasonably good job of "fact checking" and so forth ...
but please tell me just when did they *ever* let "the real world facts"
stand in the way of a "good story." They've been doing it for years ... and
will probably continue doing it as long as they are "making pictures."
