the real question is why anyone is using vga in 2015. it's obsolete.

People are still using it because it is still available, it still fills
the needs of many people, and it will be around for quite some time.

just like vinyl records.

meanwhile, the rest of the world has moved on to much better standards.

I just treated myself to a new TV set, because the old 21" analog CRT TV
in my living room failed. The new 32" LCD LED set has among it's
connections... wait for it... VGA.

it also has hdmi inputs, likely more than one.

Of course, I don't care that it has a
VGA input; I'm using the RF "F" barrel connection to hook up my antenna
on the roof.

why am i not surprised.

I realize that in your world, everyone must do exactly as you say, but
one day, you may come to realize that it doesn't work that way. People
will do things that may not be in accordance with your way of thinking.

i'm not telling anyone to do anything.

people are free to use outdated standards, which you clearly do, but
they should be fully aware that it's outdated and that the results will
be sub-par.

vga is obsolete. it came out in the 1980s and has long been surpassed
with dvi, hdmi, displayport and thunderbolt.
