Default EOS 5 problems

My EOS 5 has suddenly stopped allowing use of the command dial on the back
and none of the buttons on the back now work. I can still use it via other
controls but it's just plain inconvienient that it doesn't work. Anybody got
an ida what's wrong with it? I headr EOS 5's has an issue with this problem
but I can't find much about fixing it when search.

The EOS5 (aka A2E) usually has a problem with the command dial on the
top, not the back. Mine did. Cost me about $130 to fix and has been
great since.

Before go much further, I think I'll replace the button battery.
