It looks like they are preparing for a Jewish Wedding.....There must be some
significance to the four pedestals, but I don't know what it is.....


No significance for the Jewish Wedding (well, not as far as I know..).
What you see are the "Colonnes Buren", columns designed by the artist
Daniel Buren and installed in the courtyard of the Palais Royal in
Paris in the mid 1980s.

As you might imagine, they were hugely controversial at the time, as
they are totally out of tune with the Palais Royal itself, a building
which dates from the 18th century.

I hope they're well lit at night...They could be horrendous trip
hazards.....
