Since the OP is probably not an English native speaker, I find it a bit
nasty to correct him when he is right all along...

English French words with the same or near the same spelling often
have slightly different meanings. A funny example is:

On a jar of jam: E: No Preservatives
F: sans agents de conservation

Why not "sans preservatifs"?
.... a preservatif is the French word for condom.
