Default Looking for review article

Hi all,
A while ago I read a review article on the comparative features
of lenses by different manufacturers - among other things it dealt with
the reasons why German (designed) lenses have a different look compared
to their Japanese counterparts, Pentax being closest to German in design
strategies, how bokeh is different for the two, etc. AFAIR, it was very
similar to Mike Johnston's "The Sunday photographer" series of articles
in luminous-landscape.com. Am I making any sense, or being too vague?
If anybody can recall the article, can you please post the link? Sorry
for not being more specific.

Thanks in advance,
Pinaki.
