The Shoot-In

I don't agree that lack of participation was the result of the wars on the group. The SI is an individual entity. I believe everyone would hate to see Jim go and if he is calling it quits, then I agree with Paul when he asked if any responsible person is willing to pick up the torch. I'd like to hear ideas about what you feel could be improved, changed, etc. Anything to help resuscitate the SI. Helen After reading the threads on this subject I see an all to familiar theme cropping up. The theme of finger pointing and blaming others for the down fall of the SI. For the destruction of a group of people who all share one thing in common. Photography. If the SI is to continue, a moderator to run it should be one who is above reproach or at least a little above it. Someone who will not take sides and present all the images without biase nor prejudice. If this person can be found, then I will support him or her 100%. As I am a bit biased towards and against a few on this NG, I will not offer any ones name nor my own for the chance to do some good. I leave it up to the group or what is left of them to offer names. Those who have been offered up for sacrifice...er, I mean for the position of running the SI should offer up something for the rest to see. AS an Image and acceptance of critique from the rest. The rest of the group, and that includes all you who are lurking in the shadows, can select the one to run the SI. Majority hopefully will rule and this NG will become what Lisa Horton and others had hope it would become. Just a bunch of photographers getting together and talking and showing their stuff and getting and giving advise. Just my two cents worth. Even that isn't that much in todays economy. Yes, it's about 44 cents now! I nominate you, Draco. You seem even handed enough. -- john mcwilliams |
