I think its the result of the very low volume in this
group. The original post, which I didn't see, is in
violation of the charter for this group to begin with and is
certainly off topic but most of the old regulars here have
gone to mailing lists where there spam and OT stuff can be
controlled better, or they have gone over to digital. People
show violate the charter should be reported to their ISP's.
Sometimes that works although the internet has changed
radically since the old days when it was still mostly the
provice of techies.
Like spammers, the folks who post ads for auctions
probably never read the groups they post to.

advertising. This is not an alt group, its a Usenet group
and has a charter which to some degree can be enforced.

his ISP (his/her post is a violation of the ISP's rules)
