Default EOS 1D Mk2 custom white balance problem

Hi,

I use an Expo Disc to set custom white balance on a 1D Mk2 in my white
high-key studio. Once a custom white balance is set I would assume all shots
taken on that setting are using the same colour temperature.

This morning I've been testing different raw converters and I've found some
'interesting' problems. Capture One and RawShooter seem to have different
white balances when choosing 'as shot' for different images i.e. several
shots using the same custom white balance have different colour temps. The
shots are also very 'cold'. Bibble does a better job of producing more real
colours when using 'as shot'. Canon's Digital Photo Professional seems to
have consistent colour temps for all shots and importantly the colours look
correct on my calibrated screen. This leads me to think Capture One,
RawShooter and to a lesser extent Bibble are not using the custom white
balance information correctly.

I've seen lots of comments about Canon's DPP software being less capable
than these 3rd party converters. But my tests today do worry me.

Has anyone else tested this or seen similar problems.

For outdoor shots using auto colour balance then Capture One does a great
job. But I'm now having doubts about it's colour accuracy. I have noticed
previously that the colour temperature for the same image as reported by
these raw converters is different for each tool. This can't be right??!!

Thanks,
Graham.
