Regarding your item (1): Screw You. Sorry, I'm taken. Regarding your item (2): I did "read the thread" ... and you left it incomplete. That's called snipping. Reading the thread means YOU read the original posters message. You provided information without any form of analysis ... I provided the missing information and the analysis of the light bulb's (non)suitability for the task at hand. If you had read the OP's post you would realize that he was totally conversant with the problem of using incandescent lighting. Just happened across this post and thought I would give my .02.
Incandescent Full Spectrum lighting really leaves a lot to be desired... You simply cannot achieve high-qualiity sunlight emulation with neodymium coating. Sure they look nice and bright and cheery, but to accurately (scientifically) reproduce sunlight, you need to use fluorescent light bulbs. Fluorescents DO NOT use neodymium coating but actual phosphors to represent color temperature. The best I have seen are the Westinghouse Realite Full Spectrum light bulbs. You can see them online at: http://www.servicelighting.com/catal...m?prod=AL04836 They are 2,200 lumens, 6,500K (perfect Daylight) and 94 CRI. Sylvania's daylight bulb has 90 CRI and Philips has 84. Thanks. |

Incandescent Full Spectrum lighting really leaves a lot to be Had you googled the thread you would have seen the conclusion, that at 2850K the GE Reveals are far from sunlight, or rather, hardly different than other tungstens. The best I have seen are the Westinghouse Realite Full Spectrum light bulbs. You can see them online at: http://www.servicelighting.com/catal...m?prod=AL04836 Where is the spec for color temp and output? That spec says 600 lumens, by the way. As they are Halogen I doubt they are much different than another tungsten lights in color temp. They are 2,200 lumens, 6,500K (perfect Daylight) and 94 CRI. Sylvania's daylight bulb has 90 CRI and Philips has 84. Surely you're talking about a different lamp than the one at the link above. -- -- r.p.e.35mm user resource: http://www.aliasimages.com/rpe35mmur.htm -- r.p.d.slr-systems: http://www.aliasimages.com/rpdslrsysur.htm -- [SI] gallery & rulz: http://www.pbase.com/shootin -- e-meil: there's no such thing as a FreeLunch. |

Oops... my bad - I posted the wrong link. That was a halogen bulb.
Try this one for the 4' Westinghouse Full Spectrum I was referring to: http://www.servicelighting.com/catal...m?prod=AL36517 |

It would be nice if they would spec the temp in K. -- -- r.p.e.35mm user resource: http://www.aliasimages.com/rpe35mmur.htm -- r.p.d.slr-systems: http://www.aliasimages.com/rpdslrsysur.htm -- [SI] gallery & rulz: http://www.pbase.com/shootin -- e-meil: there's no such thing as a FreeLunch. |
