Slide show which?

Take a look at http://jalbum.net/en/ Creates pure HTML based albums with slideshows. I've been using it with the ExhibitPlus skin for many years to generate albums of photos for posting on my website. For instance: http://edwardgruf.com/2012-07-18+_sunrises/ Thank you for the example in jalbum, so I was able to see how this showed. But as said I want to send the presentation (with the jpg's included) to somebody, so they can keep it. Presentations on the web need to be maintaned in some way. It seems with jalbum the JPG's are accessible and downloadable by the recipient. So I would like to have the presentation OffLine, so that they can be kept but need no maintenance. Then it seems that each of your recipients is going to need a stand alone copy of the "slideshow" software, and then download every JPG in the presentation anyway. It looks to me as if you want some sort of PowerPoint type presentation and there is no guarantee that all will have PowerPoint or KeyNote. However, all should have a browser. Using cloud storage or an online server, and giving your recipients the option of downloading the individual JPG's they select. What I would like is a program which you use to build a slideshow and to deploy for example a runonly version of that program with the build slideshow and the jpg's. So that when it is used on a highresolution screen it works, but that it also works on lower resolution screens. Windows has loads of programs which can show the slideshow, but none of them are deployable. What do you mean by a "high resolution screen" and "lower resolution screens"? What exactly do mean by "deployable"? For the Jalbum (again thanks for the example). This probably does not meet my needs: 1. Controls which were visible during the show. 2. Controls changed from position/orientation, when going from vertical to horizontal. 3. Full screen was not full screen, still controls visible and very slow. 4. Very limited amount of control how the slides were presented. And allthough I liked the photos, I did not like this form of presentation. Thanks for your input, ben brugman -- Regards, Savageduck |

Slide show which?

To share pictures with other I am looking for a slideshow creator, where the result can be deployed. I want to deploy the slide show with the individual pictures and give the enduser some control over speed and pause and things like that. So I do not want to make a DVD as a movie with the pictures on it. But something like Windows Fotogalery, with the pictures which I can send to somebody with a windows computer. I like the presentation of Windows Fotogalery, but want more influence on that. (Android and iPad would deployment would be nice as wel). This is to share my picture with others like fellow travelers or from a reception or a party. I want to put some effort in the presentation, but for the receiver the slideshow should be very accesseble. I am open to other solutions as wel, whereby the sharing of the pictures is put in a 'nice' wrapper. Thanks, Ben Brugman Couple more suggestions (both free) http://www.simpleviewer.net/products/ http://www.stegmann.dk/mikkel/porta/ One stage I used Porta to make simple web pages - cause it was an easy way out. Someone else has suggested infaview. All these I've used but its horses for courses. If it were myself I would be more into an Adobe product to make the slide show as it can then be a tailored output to include phones. |

Not quite sure what you're after but Irfanview can create an executable slideshow. http://www.irfanview.com/ Slideshow makes a film of the slides, with low resolution and no control after it is made. I am not after that. I am looking for something like Windows Fotogalery, but then were I can control the order and effects and can deploy this to others. Deployment could be a runonly version of the program, a file with the instructions how to show the jpg's and the jpg's. In that way the resolution of the endusers system get's used. The user can also see the individual jpg's in the normal fashion. And the user can store the complete set (for example an USB stick or a DVD) on a bookshelf and look at in three years time. I am not asking for the impossible because Windows Fotogalery is an existing program and works on a modern PC without a problem. Ben So what's wrong with Windows Fotogalery, its free. From Wiki Microsoft released Windows Essentials 2012 on August 7, 2012 for Windows 7 and Windows 8 users. Windows Essentials 2012 included for the first time the SkyDrive for Windows application, but also dropped Windows Live Mesh, Messenger Companion and Bing Bar. Microsoft Family Safety is also installed for Windows 7 users only, as Windows 8 has built-in family safety functionalities. Further, Windows Essentials 2012 also dropped the "Windows Live" branding from the installer itself, as well as from programs such as Photo Gallery and Movie Maker, which have been branded Windows Photo Gallery and Windows Movie Maker respectively. These two programs have also received several updates and enhancements since their 2011 release, including video stabilization, waveform visualizations, new narration tracks, audio emphasizing, default save as H.264 format, and enhanced text effects for Movie Maker; as well as AutoCollage integration and addition of Vimeo as a publishing partner for Photo Gallery. No significant changes or re-branding were made in this release for other programs such as Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Mail, and Windows Live Writer. |
