Well, firstly, it is a good review site and I don't really think that it
needs any advertising on here as it is a well known site already for
equipment reviews.. But secondly, the reason for including a link to the
site was because as the sound clips are coming from there I though it was
appropriate to give them a mention. After all, it is their band width.

So, what camera do you shoot with? No doubt a point and shoot consumer
camera and therefore you wouldn't appreciate the sound of a camera capable
of 8.5 frames a second.

Some folks are cranky and like to criticize as they really have nothing to
contribute. Their mommies hid their pacifiers, methinks.

You're absolutely right. The magical sound of an expensive DLSR is lost
on me with my little Canon P&S. But those camera snobs amongst you can
glory in the sound and masturbate as you listen! I'm sure sorry I'm
gonna miss out on your circle jerk!

Someone once said, 'It is better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a
fool, than to open it and remove all doubt'.

Good advice for you.

Are you saying that pointing out that there's a bunch of camera snobs
here is not PC? And that you don't want to hear that?

No, not at all.

You must remember that there are people on here who make their living from
photography. Their ability to shoot very fast can be the difference between
getting the shot and not. For example, sports photography. To call them
snobs for discussing high end equipment is unreasonable.

Hence the reason I didn't agree with your post. If you were in a motorsport
newsgroup, would you judge a post that discussed Formula 1, because you
drove a Ford?

My son makes his living from photography. There's a difference between
being a pro and being a snob. I appreciate quality in most anything I
buy and use, including my little Canon P&S. But I don't listen to sound
clips of snick-snick-snick of it or any other camera. And I don't put
people down who use little throw-away cameras. I like nice things. But
I don't believe that makes me better than those who don't appreciate or
can't afford those things. If you want to be a camera snob, go ahead.
Just realize that some of us have opinions about snobbery of any kind,
and will express them here. Being a snob puts you at risk of being
called a snob. Life's a bitch!
