A Sunset Training Drone Flight
I am getting a bit of drone flying in everyday, and slowly, but surely I am becoming more confident with handling the MA2.
Here is some of tonight’s Sunset. Perhaps one of these days I will develop some production values, and add some inane musak. The videos with a few exposure adjustments: https://photos.smugmug.com/Air-2-Work/i-RrmjQQP/0/58e21995/1920/DJI_0023-1920.mp4 https://photos.smugmug.com/Air-2-Work/i-W5RXHx4/0/7923891c/1920/DJI_0025-1920.mp4 ....and some stills: https://photos.smugmug.com/Air-2-Work/i-rd8zhpp/0/6ca284c2/4K/DJI_0027-4K.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Air-2-Work/i-g7mB74B/0/24d6577b/5K/DJI_0024-5K.jpg -- Regards, Savageduck |

You would struggle to match that on a professional boom rig. |

You would struggle to match that on a professional boom rig. I am constantly amazed at what this thing is capable of. Here is a different training flight a few days ago. https://photos.smugmug.com/Air-2-Work/i-PPWrH4f/0/6b5160d4/1920/DJI_0016-1920.mp4 ....and then back to last night’s Sunset flight. I backed up, and made a run at sticking the landing. Please excuse the condition of my back deck, its replacement is on my home maintenance schedule. https://photos.smugmug.com/Air-2-Work/i-Vj9GspT/0/c4a76859/1920/DJI_0028-1920.mp4 -- Regards, Savageduck |

The panorama feature is a part of the video mode, not the stills camera, and has to be selected via the controller. It then captures a series of individual frames which are stitched together by the DJI software. So capturing a pano interrupts any video, or stills action. -- Regards, Savageduck |

To show how the pano feature works I made a screen capture on the old iPhone I repurposed to use with the MA2 controller. This was from a similar pano I shot 2 days before the one shown in the above link.I was playing with various filters and I was not happy with the result I got from an ND8+CPL. Sorry, no screen capture for the one above. https://photos.smugmug.com/Air-2-Work/i-SRTV3tL/0/ac075157/1920/RPReplay_Final1591845511-1920.mp4 -- Regards, Savageduck |

I hope the house doesn’t rattle too much at certain times of the day. :-( Here is what the controlled airspace around me looks like. My closest potential problem areas are the two military bases at Camp Roberts, a California National Guard base which has an active airfield, and Fort Hunter Liggett, which has a special use airspace type, Military Operations Area (LOW A MOA) which intermittently restricts altitude for civil aviation , and sUAS (civilian drones) during operations via NOTAM notification, and even that is not a huge problem. Even though we have some military aircraft occasionally flying over, and around us, that hasn't happened yet. What is more likely is a no fly notification due to local CalFire aerial tanker fire fighting operations, especially since they have a big attack base at Paso Robles airport. https://photos.smugmug.com/Air-2-Work/i-QCpZV5S/0/6c7aea24/5K/screenshot_398-5K.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/Air-2-Work/i-XQxBbTx/0/936d6cd5/5K/screenshot_400-5K.jpg -- Regards, Savageduck |
