New Photo Gallery: World & Emotion http://photoextra.blogspot.com/ New Photo Gallery: Amsterdam Mo http://photoamsterdam.blogspot.com/ If your end use is publishing on the web, your camera is probably fine. I'd suggest that a grreater familiarity with a photo editing software (PhotoShop comes to mind) would take care of your colour dissatisfaction, after you've figured out monitor calibration and, if you're making prints, paper profiles. And the software will allow you to correct for converging verticals and camera tilt. One the other hand, if you want to make really big, beautiful prints, you'll love 4x5, after you've reconciled to the fact that making a photograph will tqke about half an hour if it goes well, from setting the tripod to tripping the shutter. I love the deliberation of the process. You might look around for a "hand and stand" camera, being sure the lens will allow some movement, such as the rising front. There are some lovely British makes we never see here in the Pacific Northwest.. Larry Jones |
