Photo Preservation for Chemical and Digital Photographs (Product Information)
I am posting some brief and very useful information concerning a new
product in the Photography Industry. The product by the name of ArtShield is a clear coating designed to protect and enhance the longevity of fine art, graphics and photographs (both chemical and digital). Artshield is totally non-staining and will not affect the colors or the material of the object being coated. It renders a photograph non-yellowing. This product is of long term benefits for both the professional and the hobbyist. For more details please visit the Artshield website at http://liquiguard.com/artshield.htm Please accept my thanks for your time and interest Sincerely, Steven S. E-Commerce Marketing/Sales Director I would hope that anyone involved in E-Commerce would understand why this post was inappropriate. It is also the second time I've seen this post recently. If their knowledge of usenet matches their knowledge of photography, I have serious doubts about their product. I encourage the rest of the *.photo.* readers to join me in boycotting ArtShield. I am sure there are less offensive alternatives. -- Tom Thackrey www.creative-light.com tom (at) creative (dash) light (dot) com do NOT send email to (it's reserved for spammers) |

I am sure there are less offensive alternatives. feb504 from Lloyd Erlick, I haven't 'coated' my prints since I was a teenager. The phrase "totally non-staining and will not affect the colors or the material of the object being coated" calls up the deepest distrust (dread might be a better word) in me. I have spent considerable time and effort working out a method of producing my FB prints (mostly 16x20 because that's what I like) in such a way as to touch the face, or image area, not at all (not at all...) while wet. Coating the print doesn't attract me at all. It just seems to negate all my effort. Kodak, Agfa and Fuji evaded the whole problem of RC print materials fading and staining over a period of decades. These folks are not likely to be any more accepting of responsibility if their coating doesn't perform as specified. If I have to wait twenty years for my clients to find the coating is a bad idea, how old will I be when the litigation is settled? regards, --le _______________________________________ Lloyd Erlick Portraits, 2219 Gerrard Street East, unit #1, Toronto M4E 2C8 Canada. --- voice 416-686-0326 http://www.heylloyd.com _______________________________________ |
