Inks, paper for archival prints of digital images?
The US National Park Service has a publication outlining their
standards for submitting photos of properties nominated to the National Register of Historic Places which includes a section for digital images. The "non-comprehensive list" of acceptable ink and paper combinations hasn't changed since I first looked at it a few years ago. http://www.cr.nps.gov/nr/policyexpansion.htm#digital Can somebody direct me to other up-to-date sources of this kind of information? -- Bert Hyman | St. Paul, MN | |

There's already a link on that page: www.wilhelm-research.com Ooops. I scrolled right by that and got lost in the National Archives :-) I agree that the site you linked to needs updating. Also, now that there are several makers of ink/media that have ~ 200 year display life and longer dark storage, the insistence on archiving only B&W prints seems a bit extreme. |
