Bronica (RIP) and will the others (Mamiya, Rollei, Hasselblad,...
Q.G. de Bakker wrote: SNIP You can indeed still buy the 503 CW. And new Zeiss lenses. The question however is for how much longer. The huge of available lightly used amateur owned late model ones at low prices mean only an idiot would buy one NEW. PRO-SHOW if he is really such a working pro has established that. The warranty isn't worth 50% of the price, neither is the tax write off. And it would take even a hard core New York pro a decade to wear a Blad out. Tooling can't be "converted" from such dissimilar production items as the V and H Series: it is replaced, at least drill fixtures, dies and sized cutting tools. The trend has been to go to CNC "soft" tooling, and I'm sure the new camera was designed paperless and largely without hard fixturing. The bottom line is that film is going to be a more and more specialist thing and more geared to amateurs and fine art workers. |

WELL again i must be a idiot for buying my NEW CF lens instead of buying used off of ebay...and the NEW 220 backs i'm buying proves it more.....what a crock....and film will be for amateures and fine art workers.....well i guess advertising and the fashion mags will be deep in it....because right now a majority of them want MF film use, digital just don't do it for them as of yet........maybe those pros buy used equipment......not........but then HASSELBLAD does have the digital back for 10k, maybe soon I can find one used on ebay cheaper........by then i'll be retired |

All Hasselblad/Zeiss lenses made since the 1950s fit the H-System too, using the adapter Hasselblad made especially to be able to do so. you can still buy the 503CW which is what I shoot.....but like I said I may have read you wrong........ The question however is for how much longer. duncan, when that happens, send me your adress ..in case my equipment breaks and i need parts and can't buy NEW you can fix em for me |

I thought we were discussing native mounts. The point is that when Hasselblad changed from 6x6 to 645, they also changed their lens vendor from Zeiss to Fuji. -- Lassi |

Yes. And they changed mount too. At the same time, they made sure the 'old' mount lenses also fit. So one 'native' Hasselblad mount will fit another 'native' Hasselblad mount. Not quite the same as just changing mount. |

HO HO HO
So many 500c's are out there that haven't seen a workshop bench since new that pros are still using the likelihood of a break down is slim. But by that time the body would be knackered. A good clock repairer would have a field day repairing Hassis and making new parts by hand. Duncan wrote in message ups.com... Duncan wrote: Until the stocks run out! And there are very many capable camera technicians who do the same, and either order parts from The Source, or (the stingy ones - until it comes to the figure they will put on the bill) slaughter donor cameras for 'refurbished' parts. With that competition, a clockrepairer would go broke. |
