I noticed the EXIF on the photo says "560mm" and the web site says "400mm" and
you have written in "1120mm".

What's the deal? Were you using a 560 with a x2 converter? What lens exactly?

Thanks!

(Just curious...)

He's probably telling you correctly Leon. Although anything from Bret is
likely to be bull****. His Canon cameras can't read information properly
from the old lens he's using, much less twice the data from improper use
of tele-converters behind it.

When you tape over the pins to make those old lenses focus with too many
TCs behind them, the camera's computer goes into hyperspace and reports
whatever it pulls from it's program for EXIF data. Totally unreliable
stuff... Unless he shelled out for modded version camera... Doubtful.

When you play around with getting Canon stuff do what it normally can't,
the one thing you cannot rely on is the on-board computer and the
information it produces.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if all his action shots (what few there
are) are manually focused with him guessing where the point of focus
will be, setting the shot, poping the mirror up and when the mover comes
to the point of focus press the remote shutter release.

Despite his rhetoric about hand held shots, You can't shoot a 5D at ISO
100 with enough shutter speed to hand hold the camera for action shot
when your lens is crippled to F8 or smaller.

He's using a tripod and remote shutter release and probably doing it
with the mirror locked up too. I doubt he'll ever admit it because then
he'd be giving someone else enough knowledge to take better shots than
him.
