im going to the snowies in a couple of weeks so this is getting me
really excited! what are the chances of snow at this time of the year?

Crackenback average is about 1 day in March and 2-3 days in April so not
high. One experience of snow was 2 hours of pushing through snow melt
covered bushes. Not pleasant.
