Default Pentax K into Canon adapter not available?

I've googled both on the web and the groups and have come to the
conclusion that I will not be able to get an adapter to allow me to
use my old Pentax "K" mount lenses on my new Canon EOS 300D (that's
Rebel to my American friends). I'm hoping that someone knows better,
otherwise I'll have to start saving.

My Pentax lenses are totally manual so preservation of autofocus is
not important. It's just that I've a 135mm lens that would make a
lovely medium-length telephoto on the Canon, just right for sports
photos.

So you should've got a Pentax *istDS insterad of the 300D, right?

The Pentax knocks spots off the Canon IMHO.

I'm curious - why didn't you go for a Pentax DSLR?

Shallow. Pockets, that is. There's an unbeatable offer on the 300D
in the UK right now. And a free 256MB CF card on top.

What's it they say about computers ... "There are only two good times
to buy a computer: yesterday and tomorrow." Same applies to cameras
and always has.

Have you checked into T-mount adapters.

I have been out of the SLR world for about 6 years, but I you get a T-mount
adapter for the for the body and a T-mount for the lenses.

Something odd happens to the focal length because of the extra distance
between the lens and the film or CCD in your case.

This link maybe a start.

Seems to me a strange economy - the *ist DS is smaller, lighter, handles
better and has a much better viewfinder - best of all, you can use all your
old K mounts, and costs only about the price of a basic Canon lens more.

Just my tuppence,

Deep.
