Default epson colour printing

I have an Epson XP-405 printer and despite using genuine Epson inks the
printed colours are not right. The pinks and Magenta are coming out
yellowish and even a scarlet red is a dull yellow. I have cleaned the
heads, unticked the grey scale, checked the driver, done all I can think of
including trying to reset the colours from the colour chart (circle).
Can anyone give me advice? I am reluctant to disconnect the printer and
then have to reinstall it with all its software.
Thank you

what apps are you using and most importantly, are you using a colour
managed workflow?

To start with there are a few things that we need to know:

What computer OS are you using?

Do you have a calibrated display?
Even just using the basic calibration instructions will be better than
nothing if the calibration has been screwed up.

What software are you using to print?

Are you using update/current drivers for the XP-405?

Are you selecting appropriate paper type via the driver?

Given the type of printer, an Epson "Small-in-One" printer, not a
dedicated photo printer, I doubt that the OP has even thought of a
color managed workflow, or even understands what that means.

if so, then the answer would be no, which means it's time to learn.

Can the printer do a self-test print (ie one from within itself, not one
generated by a program on a computer). Is there any liquid ink in the
magenta reservoir? Have you tried new ink cartridges?

Would 'disconnecting' the printer really make it necessary to 'reinstall
it with all its software'? (I can see that having the wrong driver on
your computer might be a problem but if you've been printing
satisfactorily then you've probably got the right driver installed
anyway). Usually, in my experience, powering off and pulling all the
leads out doesn't lose anything - just plug it all in and power up again
and it should all work as before.

Dried or clogged ink cartridges or blocked 'heads' are the usual problem
with any ink-jet printer.

I have tried replying to the threads but they have not yet been posted.
Until now I have been using Windows Live Mail to access nntp.aioe.ord but it
does not seem to be working very well.
I may try to find another server.
Sorry to bother all.

Thank you for responding.
I am running windows 10 on my desktop and the basic set up of the Epson
XP-405. Drivers are up to date. The inks are genuine and I am trying to
print on Epson Glossy paper with best photo setting.
The printer setting is Color Mode Epson Vivid.
I have tried to adjust the colours from the Colour Circle without success
however I have now done another nozzle check/clean and the printer is
working a bit better but colours still not right.
if i selected the red quadrant of the colour circle is this likely to adjust
the colour of the print?
Thank you.
