Default Canon battery grip questions

Hi - can anyone give me some info regarding the compatibility of Canon
battery packs for various cameras? Will a BG-E3 (battery grip intended for
Canon 350D) fit a Canon 300D, for instance? Specifically, I am looking for
a battery grip for a Canon 300D that can hold AA batteries. The "dedicated"
battery grip for the 300D, the BG-E1, can only take 2 proprietary Canon
batteries...

TIA

No, typically if Canon introduces a new grip it's because the old one will
not fit the new version. The grip for the 20D won't fit the 10D/D60/D30.

No they are all different models.

Incidentally ebuyer.co.uk (Quickfind code 65127) has 300D grips for £41.70
plus Vat but they don't seem to be in stock at present.

Only the grip for the 350D will accept AA batteries; it comes with a
separate insert to hold them, replacing the insert that holds the two
regular batteries. I have both cameras and battery packs.

The BG-E4 for the EOS 5D also comes with an insert for AA batteries.

As does the BG-E2 for the 20D, but the original question was about the
grip(s) for the 300D and 350D...

Sorry, misunderstanding of the word "only".

"Only" as opposed to the grip for the 300D, i.e. choice between two.
