Loose battery door on Leica Mini II
My take-everywhere P&S has been a Leica Mini II for a little over a
year (I bought it used). I've taken a few hundred pictures with it and it's wonderful. But today, after I replaced the battery, the battery door no longer latches right. It closes, but opens right back up with any movement and lets the battery fall right out. I don't see anything that looks broken on it, so I suppose whatever is broken is inside. Any thoughts on whether I can fix it myself? I have a feeling that a professional repair will cost more than I paid for it, and more than I could replace it for. I paid about US$90, and they're probably selling for less now. I'm thinking of just taping it shut. The door is designed to slide out for a short distance, then pivot open. If the tape can prevent the door from sliding out, then it won't pivot open and the battery will stay in. Thanks for any ideas. Greg |
