Like the Swallows of Capistrano... Every now and then they send a scout in disguised as a sparrow, to make sure the tourists have left before they fly in. :-) On a more realistic note, in modern times the various swallows & swifts in California find the undersides of freeway overpasses much more attractive than old adobe missions. Water sources are also important, so out here at Lake Nacimiento we have rock walls covered with, what seems like thousands of swallow nests. Once the bugs and flies of Summer appear so do the flocks of swallows. -- Regards, Savageduck |

Is there some kind of critter in that shoreline shot? No critter in that shot, but we have plenty of mountain lion, bobcat, coyote, fox, deer, wild turkey, pigs, and naturally birds aplenty around here. This is not a bad lake for a little fishing if you are so inclined. Unfortunately in the Summer it is best to stick to the quieter inlets and backwaters to keep away from the vacationers and Spring break crowd. Jet skis & wake-boarders are a PIA. -- Regards, Savageduck |
