Question on 450mm Fujinon-C

I just acquired one of these and discovered an interesting
difference between the one in my hand and the ones I've
read about on the web. The serial number is 6402xx, which
puts it in the same range as those shown on Kerry's web
pages. But this particular lens takes a *49mm* filter! It
has the "outer lettering" and is multicoated, and is mounted
in what seems to be the original Copal-C (newer style but
chrome ring with coarse blocky teeth) number 1 shutter.

Has anyone ever seen one of these to take a 49mm filter?

Did you check with Kerry he is "the man in the know"!!!
Sometimes he reads the group so he may respond from here.
He probably has a way to contact him from his webpage
and that may be quicker, if you ask him he will answer.

49mm? On a 450 Fuji-C? This is indeed an oddity. It's not a step down
ring installed, is it?

Email Kerry with a photo of the lens. I'm sure he'll be very interested
in seeing it. Though for the life of me, I can't understand how they
got 49mm when the elements seem to fill the barrel in the 52mm version...

A few years back I purchased a used Fujinon 300mm C at it too was set
for 499mm filters while the newer one is designed for 52mm. George
