Canon EOS 300 (Rebel 2000) dropped -- Help, please!
Hi there,
On a whim, I have bought a Canon EOS 300 that was dropped (dirt cheap at auction). I've fixed the film door latch and rigged up a temporary fix for the broken / missing battery door. I have no EOS lenses at present. When I fit a Tamron Adaptall-2 lens (via the appropriate EOS adapter) and load a spool of "test" exposed film, nothing lights up in the viewfinder and the shutter won't trip. On the other hand, everything on the LCD looks correct ('00' for aperture to show no EOS lens attached). I suspect this means the camera is well and truly broken, but could someone familiar with this camera body please confirm that? I could borrow an EOS lens from a friend if it's thought worthwhile. I was expecting to have stopped-down metering with the Tamron lenses. Cheers, and thanks in anticipation. Richard |
