point and shoot

Can anyone recommend a handy (fairly compact) approximately 3 megapixel
point and shoot camera, or NG to find one???? I have a D70, but was
looking for something for the wife, gosh I might even use
it..HORRORS!!!! .Looked at Minolta Dimage XT, is that any good????

for SLR-like cameras with full control:

I also carry my Sony V1 (5MP) and it is excellent. Don't limit yourself to
3MP when the higher MP newer cameras are so good and so cheap.

I also wanted something pocket size. Wound up with a used (refurbished) 4mp
Pentax Optio on Amazon, and it's not a bad little camera. Check
Overstock.com, too.
