Unlike most 6x6 or 6x7 SLRs/TLRs you can use it successfully without a tripod. Well, I wouldn't agree with him vs. TLRs, Me neither. My TLRs are the most hand-holdable cameras I have used - even moreso than my 35mm rangefinder. I've found that I can handhold a TLR at 1/30 and still get a 30cm square print with no visible camera shake. I don't have a TLR these days, but my most hand-holdable MF cameras are Fujica rangefinders - in 645 and 6x9 - that use leaf shutters. Same reason therefo no moving mirror, and a leaf shutter. These produce some wonderfully sharp images hand held. Even in 35mm I find the best hand holding cameras are those with leaf shutters - hand-held a good lens on one of these is often better than a superb lens on a focal plane shutter camera. Peter |
