Default Nikon SB-80DX questions

I have a Nikon SB-80DX for my D100. I'm confused about two things:

1. The SB-80DX literature says it has a "Built-In Wireless Flash". Does
this mean I can hand hold it somehow away from the D100 and still have it
flash?

2. Will my SC-17 cord (from my F5 days) work with the D100/SB-80DX
combination?

Many thanks!

Hi Anonymous,

The SB80DX has a built-in wireless flash *trigger* that will sense another
flash (like the built-in flash on the D100) firing and trigger the SB80. It
cannot be triggered wirelessly by just the camera.

I have the SB80DX and a D100 and use it all the time with the SC-17 cord.
Works just fine.

Hope this helps,
Dave
