https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-50956680 as usual, your subject is irrelevant to the link. I don't know why I bothered, but I clicked on the link: Dateline 31 December 2019 o *Apple accused of crackdown on jailbreaking* https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-50956680 Um... what's the "news" in that? o And what does it have to do with the r.p.d ng? What the article seems to say is... "Corellium specialises in virtualising iOS software, which it says allows security researchers to discover bugs within the platform." "However, Apple has accused the firm of encouraging users to sell any flaws they discover to the open market for the highest price." As for flaws, it's well known that Google proved beyond any doubt (and Apple did not dispute and could not dispute) that iOS was essentially untested for years on end (it was proven untested by Google in detail). It's also widely known that there are so many flaws on iOS that a mere child could find them (and did); and that mere journalists could find them in a day (and did); and that security researchers could find them in five minutes (and did). Apple iOS 13 had so many security/privacy flaws that Apple _knew_ about months before shipping, which merely proved (yet again, as what happened in iOS 10 with Broadcom flaws Apple had fixes in hand and still shipped) that Apple yet again proved the age-old maxim about iOS: o *Apple prefers to ship on schedule, rather than to ship quality* It's one reason why the going rate for iOS holes has dropped drastically o There's just too many of them out there in the supply/demand curve. All these facts were already covered, in detail, on the iOS newsgroup: o http://tinyurl.com/misc-phone-mobile-iphone o http://misc.phone.mobile.iphone.narkive.com Dispute any of them, nospam, and I'll clearly report the cite that backs them up as my facts are never wrong; where I am not reporting the cites here 'cuz this is a photo newsgroup, so the point was just to figure out what the article was about. -- Note: In decades on Usenet my facts have never been materially wrong simply because I'm a well-educated adult who owns a belief system _based_ on facts. Trust me, the apologists (like Savageduck & nospam) have tried, valiently, to find a _single_ fact materially wrong - and have failed. It's not because I'm something special as I'm simply an adult who owns a belief system which is _based_ on facts. |
