Actually, for what it is, the long zoom in the Fujinon affordable, entry
level “XC� lens range, it performs surprisingly well for a lens of its low
cost. However, when it comes to quality Fujinon glass it is better to go
for the so much better, and more costly “XF� glass such as the XF55-200,
XF100-400, XF50-140/2.8, and XF16-55/2.8.

Yes. It's good glass, nobody said otherwise. Good glass for the money. But
not for $200 IMO.

And I have one and use it irregularly regularly ... Like to shoot with old
manuals mostly.

At full stretch and closest focus it doesn't do badly for things like
wild flowers and funghi. And even for action, with a fixed object to
focus on (eventing horse jumps, for example) it does OK.
