Default Leica & Minolta

Someone wanted to know if the R6 and R6.2 were part of Leica's collaboration
with Minolta....They apparently were not. This URL says that that
collaboration ended with the R5:

Apparently they are now cooperating with Panasonic.
Leica provides lenses and Panasonic digital bodies.
I have one, actually. Cool camera. I love the
Leica Elmarit zoom f/2.8, combined with Mega-IS.
Body inherits Leicas tradition of very quiet shutter
release.

Or at least Leica provides their name. There was a 7-21mm f:2-2.5 zoom
that showed up in the Canon G3, labeled "Canon Zoom Lens", in a Sony,
labeled "Carl Zeiss", in an Epson or something, and, as I recall, as a
"Vario-Elmarit" or something in the first Leica/Panasonic digicam. At
any rate, no one claims that any part of the Leica digicams is
actually made in Germany.

Or is it the digicam tradition? Most sub-DSLR digitals are pretty
close to silent; there is just less stuff to move.
