I happen to own a few XOs. They run at 7 Watts if everything
(including the camera and the screen at full brightness) is on
and the CPU is working heavily (and quite a bit less normally).
With the right technology, they can run off muscle power.
(Newer versions use even less power.)

That could be your solution.

But for the moment turning off at night is a good compromise.


Sleeping when it's dark and reducing heating and air conditioning
works even better.
