Hi,

When shooting night photography you will need to put the camera on a
stationary platform such as a tripod, tabletop, top of car (engine off),
etc.

Point & shoot cameras can do limited night photography by putting the camera
to either auto mode or night scene mode and making sure the flash is OFF.

There are hundreds of free photography tutorials, including many on night
photography over at Cameratown.com (http://www.cameratown.com).

I hope this helped.
