If you visit your local camera shop and ask for rechargeables suitable for
use in a flash, I'm sure a clerk will be able to point you in the right

I haven't been too impressed with the camera shops in my area. A
couple years ago, I was in getting some supplies and asked if they had
any cable releases as I wanted one for my Canon D30. They told me I
was mistaken, and there was no such thing as a D30.

Oh dear...

Canon's first DSLR was a D30, then the D60 then they realived they could
never go head to head with Nikon and called the next one a 10D and so it
followed on that all Canon DSLRs since have had the "D" at the back of
the model number...

How does the idiot feel now?

Canon's first DSLR was a D30,

Wrong. The FIRST Canon DSLR was a EOS DCS 3 for the Americas, a EOS DCS 1
for Europe, Asia, Oceania and a EOS D2000 for Japan.

then the D60

Wrong again. The Second Canon DSLR was a EOS D6000 for the Americas, a EOS
D30 for Europe, Asia, Oceania.

then they realived they could
never go head to head with Nikon and called the next one a 10D

Wrong again. The third Canaon DSLR was a EOS 1D for the Americas, a EOS D60
for Europe, Asia, Oceania and a EOS 1Ds for Japan.

and so it
followed on that all Canon DSLRs since have had the "D" at the back of
the model number...

Well at least you got something right. You can find the rest of the history
here.

wrong. kodak took an unmodified canon eos 1n and added the digital
part.

kodak also did the same with nikon bodies.

then the D60

Wrong again. The Second Canon DSLR was a EOS D6000 for the Americas, a EOS

the dcs6000 is also known as dcs 560, and another kodak hybrid. here's
mo

the d30 was the first canon designed and built dslr and not a kodak
hybrid.

the 1d, d60 and 1ds are all very different cameras.

But it was still labeled as a Canon.

I'm just pointing out the info from the Canon website. I believe Canon
knows when they produced each model. It's all right here in the link you
snipped.

it was labelled as a kodak *and* canon. kodak bought canon bodies
(which anyone could do) and retrofitted the electronics (which anyone
could do, but not without a lot of resources). canon had nothing to do
with it being a *digital* slr, other than selling the *film* body to
kodak to be modified.
