Paper question-- FreeStyle Product-Is Arista VC RC same as Ilford MG RC?
I've been using Freestyles' Arista Label Sheetfilm ( 8x10 sheet 125 speed)
which is commonly stated as being Ilford FP4--and I process it as FP4. EXCELLENT FILM By the way!! But what of the Papers--I use both Ilford VC RC and Fiber papers. Is the RC/Fiber Arista also an Ilford MG IV Equivalent? I use RC for contact sheets and various (occasional freebies) but final prints in fiber. Any Arista paper users here? |

I'm using some Arista in Grade 2 8x10 FB and 5x7 RC. It looks good to me. I Homebrew. I had never added bromide but did start when I found the Arista FB more prone to chemical fog. Nice whites now. I haven't used Arista paper for some time but when I did it was obviously NOT Ilford stuff. Some appears to be made by Kentmere, a well established English company, but I think Freestyle also buys paper from one of the former eastern bloc companies. The film is definitely Ilford, same as Ilford's normal packaged film. -- --- Richard Knoppow Los Angeles, CA, USA |

Arista EDU is diffinately not made by Ilford. -- LF Website @ http://members.verizon.net/~gregoryblank "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."--Theodore Roosevelt, May 7, 1918 |
