sandisk 264 card capacity

It depends on several factors. For one, what quality setting you will use.
On my 3MP camera. High quality gets me around 1.4MB and standard is .75MB. I
use standard setting as the images look fine to me. That's 340 shots on a
256MB card. Different cameras have differing compression so YMMV. Also keep
in mind that different scenes compress differently. Subjects with lots of
detail generate larger files, but it all averages out.

One point I always make is that you should not put all your eggs in one
basket. If that one card fails, it can take all the images with it. I like
to several smaller cards. I've had digital cameras for 9 years now and have
yet to loose an image, but a buddy of mine lost 70 pictures from his
vacation when his card failed. I often here the same story of lost images in
this group.
