No, but he could use some bodywork - he's kind of banged up.

All nice photos, but the milk cans photo is one that could benefit a
bit from some HDR. Maybe.

Perhaps you jest, but as a horse owner myself I can testify that many
people use them.

Yup! It just struck me as oddly amusing. Unless they were offering
three different species of masseuse, then it would be downright bizarre.

To each his own. I have never seen a photograph that had benefitted
from HDR, unless you count garish and contrived as benefits. I'm not
saying that such a photograph doesn't exist, only that I have not seen
it.

I agree with almost everything that you have said and almost everything that
you will say in your entire life.

You wouldn't have noticed... If it's realism that you're looking for,
but some good things can be said for exaggerated reality too. Just don't
confuse them!

You wouldn't have noticed... If HDR was properly applied with realism in
mind, if that if that you're looking for but some good things can be
said for exaggerated reality too. Just don't confuse them!

There is a time and place for most things, and HDR is one of those. It
can ruin an image when it is over cooked, as can any hamhanded post
processing. However, when it is used in the right circumstances, with
some understanding of the process, it can be useful in achieving a
balance in saving shadow detail or blown highlights to produce an image
one might be hard pressed to identify as stereotypical, glowing HDR.

This is a 5 exposure bracket HDR compared with the 0 EV image.

Others would have to give you information on that set up.
