"John ©" wrote in message ... Sorry to ask as its probably been asked many times before. Which camera would be better the nikon d70 or the canon 10d and when I decide to buy one of the above I am wanting two lenses, which would you buy as its a minefield out there as lenses are concerned, is there a website that does reviews for lenses, thnaks. If you don't already own lenses, then you pick the one that feels best to you. In my case, it was easy to choose because I have lots of Nikon lenses. Jim |

Well,as an owner of a Canon 10D and 2 Nikon D70s,I think you are a little
misinformed! The D70 is MUCH more camera than the Rebel. It has many features the 10D can not match. The 10D has a SLIGHT edge over the D70 in some areas.Like others I would handle both cameras, and pick which one fits better! The Nikons feel better in my hands. The Rebel is not in the league with either camera! "Drazen Stojcic / BUNTOVNIK" wrote in message ... If you're starting from scratch, then go with Canon. The 10D is a better camera then D70, they're not even in the same class. D70 is an Nikon entry level dSLR, such as Canon 300D. The 10D is a class higher - has a metal body (this really is important), and some advanced options. Also, I would suggest waiting for the upcomin Photokina to see what will the new 10D mark II turn out to be. Also, it is expected that the price of 10D will drop up to 25% once the new generation camera is introduced. -- ------------------------------ online photo portfolio www.stojcic.com " If you saw a man drowning and you could either save him or photograph the event, what film would you use?" - Anonymous |

The 10D costs $400 more than the D70 at the moment, even though everyone "knows" that Canon will probably be replacing it soon; it's really in a different class of camera and it would probably not be unreasonable to expect it to be better than the D70 in more ways than it's not. -- Jeremy

It sounds like you don't own either one. Its also funny
that you dis the man who has both, and who has noted each has its own merits. It sounds like you entirely missed the point that the Rebel wasn't part of the comparison, that the 10D isn't the Rebel, and that he was talking about the wrong camera. -- Jeremy
